Myind is a private file explorer and second brain. It reads what you give it on your own device and keeps it where you choose. We, the makers of Myind, run no server for the app and receive none of your data.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no account with us, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting that sends data to us. We never sell or share data, because we never have it.
What stays on your device
- Your files, photos, videos and notes, and what Myind reads from them: text, picture descriptions, faces grouped into people, tags, topics and the search index.
- Documents you scan with the camera, and photos or videos you make smaller or convert.
- Flashcards, quizzes, saved searches, rules and your private vault.
- Face ID or fingerprint unlock is handled by your phone. Myind only learns whether unlocking succeeded; it never sees your face or fingerprint.
- When your phone has Apple Intelligence or Gemini Nano, answers and summaries are made on the device.
What leaves your device, only when you turn it on
- Your own GitHub repository. If you connect GitHub, Myind copies your notes and, if you choose, your files to a private repository in your own GitHub account, using a token you create. The token is kept in your device's secure storage and is sent only to GitHub. GitHub's terms and privacy statement apply.
- An AI service you choose. If you add your own key for Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, Gemini (Google) or Groq, Myind sends that company, only after you tap Allow, the text it needs to answer: the text of links, files and notes you save, your questions with the passages that answer them, a photo when it is described for search, and recordings you share to be written down. Files in your private vault are never sent. Stop it any time in Settings → AI. That company's terms and privacy policy apply.
- Place names (iPhone). If you turn on place names, a photo's location is sent to Apple Maps to find the place's name.
- Links you save. A web page you save is fetched to read its title, description and text. For a YouTube link, Myind asks YouTube only for its title and channel. Myind never downloads videos from YouTube, Instagram or any other site.
Your computer (optional)
If you run the Myind worker on your own computer, it reads jobs from your own repository and may use tools you installed there. That happens on your computer, under those tools' terms.
Deleting your data
- On the phone: Settings → Privacy → Delete everything on this phone, or delete the app.
- In GitHub: delete the repository in your GitHub account. We have no copy.
- With an AI service: follow that service's own deletion process.
Children
Myind is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. Anything that would send more data off your phone always asks you first in the app.
